IHK Summer Party 2026: Two photographers for 2,000 guests

At the traditional IHK Berlin summer party, two photographers covered four hours of opening speeches, networking and the evening programme in the Ludwig Erhard Haus and on Fasanenstrasse. Time-critical images were edited during the event; by the end of our assignment at 10:30 p.m., the client had received the complete coverage.

Summer party in the heart of City West

An evening between the Ludwig Erhard Haus and Fasanenstrasse.

The event extended across the interior of the Ludwig Erhard Haus and a partially closed section of Fasanenstrasse. Wide overviews, busy guest activity and personal encounters together convey the scale and atmosphere of the evening.

Collaboration since 2018

Long-standing client knowledge and a flexibly scalable team

We have regularly photographed IHK Berlin events since 2018. As the collaboration has grown, we have added trusted team members to larger assignments whenever needed.

The assignment for the 2026 summer party was to portray the representative opening speeches, the large number of guests from business and politics and the open networking atmosphere with equal attention. With around 2,000 attendees and several event areas, a two-person team was necessary so that time-critical communication images and ongoing coverage could be produced in parallel.

The challenge

Delivering key speeches immediately without losing sight of the event

Images from the opening speeches by Kai Wegner, Manja Schreiner and Sebastian Stietzel were needed immediately for communications. At the same time, encounters and programme items continued throughout the venue.

During the speeches, one photographer therefore concentrated on close, publication-ready speaker images and moved directly into selection and editing afterwards. The second photographer continued the event coverage in parallel. This avoided any gap in coverage while priority images were already being supplied via Picdrop.

Communications on the same evening

Current event images were scheduled for release from 8 p.m.

The official IHK Berlin press release referred to current event photographs from 8 p.m. onwards. The production workflow was therefore designed for reliable live delivery from the outset.

Opening & Political Guests

Speeches, reactions and encounters in a consistent visual language.

Numerous guests from Berlin’s business and political communities attended the summer party. Alongside Governing Mayor Kai Wegner, guests included Iris Spranger, Katharina Günther-Wünsch, Ute Bonde, Christian Gaebler and Dr Ina Czyborra, as well as former Governing Mayors Klaus Wowereit and Michael Müller.

Our solution

Two photographers, continuous coverage and a clear delivery process

01Parallel coverage: Both photographers moved independently between the stage, indoor areas and Fasanenstrasse.

02Priority speeches: Close speaker images were produced deliberately during the opening for rapid publication.

03Immediate editing: Selection, editing and delivery via Picdrop began immediately after the speeches.

04Complete coverage: Despite the live delivery, the event was documented without interruption until the final moment of the assignment.

Networking & Atmosphere

The event came alive through encounters between the official programme items.

Conversations, food trucks, interactive activities and live music turned the summer party into an open networking evening. The coverage combines representative images with spontaneous situations and shows both the scale and the personal atmosphere.

Immediate use in communications

The images were published on LinkedIn the same evening.

IHK Berlin, its Chief Executive Manja Schreiner and IHK President Sebastian Stietzel used the promptly supplied images in their own communications, making the value of the live selection immediately visible.

The result

Fast communication images and complete evening coverage

The priority speech images were available during the summer party. By 10:30 p.m. – at the end of the four-hour assignment – IHK Berlin had received the complete image selection.

The case shows why the number of photographers alone is not decisive at large corporate events. Only the combination of experienced parallel production, fast editing and clear delivery enables timely communications without compromising complete coverage.
