On the rooftop terrace of Restaurant Baret, a warm summer evening, personal conversations and panoramic views across Berlin came together. The story therefore begins not with the formal programme, but with guests arriving and the atmosphere of the location.

The assignment

Telling the full story of an anniversary through two media

The brief was deliberately clear: the celebration, speeches and atmosphere were to be documented in both photographs and film. Unlike time-critical press or social media productions, the focus was not on live delivery but on creating a comprehensive record of the evening.

The photographer and videographer worked in parallel and in close coordination, without visibly staging the event. This produced classic documentary images, precise coverage of the speeches and moving footage that brought together the mood, sound and dynamics of the summer evening.
